So you cooked up a storm for your husbands birthday, and the food was delicious. But now you've got to clean up the mess you just made! Your glass cooktop is dirty and has sauces burn on to it, that look impossible to clean off! Luckily, cleaning your black stovetop isn't that hard! Instead of sitting and scrubbing your dirty glass stovetop, here are some tips to make cleaning your cooktop a breeze!

Best Glass Stovetop Cleaning Kit

This stovetop cleaning kit comes with a cooktop cleaning cream, a non abrasive cooktop cleaning pad, and a razor blade for those pesky stains. You can use it on all major glass/ceramic cooktop brands including GE, Whirlpool, Frigidaire & Thermador. There's a reason this is the #1 cooktop cleaner on Amazon!

How to Clean a Glass Cooktop with Baking Soda

If you're not into using cleansers to clean your glass cooktop, you can always use baking soda and vinegar. Using baking soda to clean your glass stovetop is more natural and definitely going to save you a few bucks. First, pour some vinegar on the dirty stovetop to degrease it. With a towel or non abrasive cleaning pad, wipe it away. Next, clean your cooktop with baking soda by sprinkling baking soda over the entire surface. Be generous with it. Next, soak a towel in hot water, wring it, and lay it over the baking soda. Let the warm towel rest on the stovetop for around 15-20 minutes in order to soften up the dirt and grime stuck to your cooktop. After you remove the towel, you should notice that the burn on grime should have loosened up enough to be wiped away. If you still have burns remaining, try scrubbing it lightly with a non abrasive scrubbing pad.

How to Clean a Glass Stovetop with a Razor Blade Scraper

Many glass stovetops come with a razor blade, and you were probably wondering why. The razorblade is meant to clean your dirty or burnt stovetop. (If your stovetop didn't come with a razorblade, check with your manufacturer before using one). You simply wet your stopvetop and scrape the surface of the cooktop at a low angle, around 45 degrees, lightly and slowly. Doing it gently will not scratch your cooktop, and instead will leave you with a pristine stove. If you don't have the razer blade that came with your cooktop, you can purchase the Retraguard safety razor blade linked below. It comes with several blades, has a manual blade guard for safe storage and can also be used to clean other hard surfaces.
