2. Shop in Bulk / Family Packs

Make your purchases in Bulk. There is no question when you make general purchases in bulk, you often save lots of money. One trick that I have implemented is purchasing frozen organic fruits and vegetables which are often cheaper and you end up getting more for your buck. Of course this includes purchasing the family packs. I usually purchase the family packs of meat and turkey, and end up saving.

3. Shop in Farmers Markets

Shopping in a farmers market is another way to help one save when purchasing organic. Make it a family outing and take your children along. A really good trick is to go to the farmers market towards the end of the day. This way you can bargain with them and purchase at a lower cost. They will be sure to enjoy a nice Sunday afternoon at the farmers market.

4. Skip Health Food Stores

Shop in a regular food chain store as opposed to a health food store where they are known to jack up the prices.

5. Coupons and Weekly Ads

Another way to save is stalking up on coupons and looking through your weekly ads. Every Thursday I receive the following week's flyers in the mail and tear out the coupons. I usually will do my weekly shopping based on the store that has the best deals. There are certain staples in my house that are a little pricey. In that case I would write to the company and they would mail me coupons. That's another great way to obtain coupons!

6. Purchase Seasonal Fruits

Purchase seasonal fruits as opposed to non seasonal fruits. This is Because non seasonal will be more expensive.

7. Buy Generic Brands

Buying generic brands are a lot cheaper than their name brand competitors. By choosing generic, you will be saving a lot of money.

8. Meal Plan

How many of us go to the store without a shopping list and make unnecessary purchases? Making a meal plan on a weekly basis will save you lots of money. I usually make my meal plan on Saturday night and shop on Sunday.

9. Storing Food

Proper food storage is important since it can help your food last longer. Most fruits can be stored either in the fridge or out. However, if stored in the fridge it may last longer since the fruits don't ripen as fast. So it's best to allow the fruit to ripen on the counter and store it in the fridge.

10. Plant a Garden

Organic gardening is one of the many ways that can reduce the use of pesticides. Purchasing organic food may be very costly, and many simply don't have the extra spending money to purchase organic food. People can resolve this problem by simply planting their own garden.

Organic food has some limitations with pricing and no doubt it is more expensive, but for good reason, as you know organic food is void of harmful chemicals such as pesticides hormones and other synthetic compounds. By ingesting food with all of these harmful chemicals over the course of your lifetime, your body develops unwanted disease that had you been consuming organic foods you most likely would not have developed. When using organic products, we will make society a healthier future.
